Wyrd and Wonder
It’s Monday, which means it’s time to gaze into my crystal ball once more and see what my Wyrd and Wonderful companions have been up to this past week.

I’m locked high in a tower with my nose in the wrong sort of book this weekend, but at least the view is good from up here – so grab yourself a seat and let me share the doings of my Wyrd and Wonderful companions…
Our intrepid party has split up and ventured out into the realms of fantasy in search of adventure. Some seek out dragons. Some swim with mermaids. Some dance with shapeshifters in the ruins of familiar cities. But all have a stash of books in their backpacks and a story to share around the fire…

Word had gone around. The clock struck the hour, and the tavern began filling with adventurers. And it kept filling. Good thing about fantasy taverns: there are always enough seats for all. Some people brought a friend. And everyone brought a book or two, and that was how we knew we were in the right company.
Raise the banners! Unleash your magicks! Summon your dragons! It’s May at last – welcome to an epic month of Wyrd and Wonder.
So other than the read-alongs, the photo challenge and/or the blog tag, what else will we be up to during Wyrd and Wonder next month? Eating people who ask too many questions, that’s what. JUST KIDDING. Don’t feed the dragons, friends. They get over-excited.
Is it a blog tag? Is it a photo challenge? Is it just a handy collection of Wyrd and Wonderful prompts? It’s up to you! We’ve come up with a prompt for every day through May – use them wisely. Or frivolously. Frivolity is good.
It’s April: the days are getting longer, the nights are getting warmer, and the dragons are stirring. In a month’s time, an intrepid group of readers will spend a frenzied May celebrating the fantastic – so it’s time to start making our plans and drawing our maps. This week, we’re talking read-alongs!
We’re counting down to our annual fantasy love-in: 28 adventurers are planning to celebrate the fantastic with us so far, but the more the merrier – everyone is welcome! So what have I got for you this week? Details of our sign-up giveaway, plus Wyrd and Wonder banners and buttons to download. Step this way…
Last May, an intrepid band of like-minded bloggers and book lovers devoted themselves to all things fantasy. Lisa, Jorie and I will be heading out in search of dragons, magic and Faerie again this year. Will you join us for Wyrd and Wonder?
Elspeth Reeves has put the horrors of the Carrion King story behind her. When archaeologists unearth the bones of a long-dead witch, there are mutters that her centuries-old curse will be reawakened. But is the vengeful spirit of Agnes Levett really behind the spate of murders that follow?
Top Ten Tuesday is was created by The Broke and the Bookish, and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s all about books, lists and sharing the love we have of both with our bookish friends. As it’s nearly Hallowe’en, we’re celebrating all things spooky and I’m diverting from books this week to recall other sorts of scary, unexplained or just downright weird tales…
