Here at There’s Always Room For One More I usually focus on books, but I’ve been meaning to wrap up my thoughts on some of the TV I’ve enjoyed this year too. With the end of 2022 at hand, I want to at least make time to yell from the rooftops about my show of the year – AppleTV’s unnerving, perfectly controlled Severance.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s all about books, lists and sharing the love we have of both with our bookish friends. With December deep about us, it’s time to consider our winter TBR…
December seems surprisingly quiet for genre releases this year, which suggests that I’ve done poor research (quite possible; I’m a bit overwhelmed at present) or that we can look forward to a fabulous 2023. So what have I found to make some room for?
Our crew has crossed galaxies and navigated timelines, delved into what if and could be, but every SciFiMonth must come to an end. Better late than never, it’s time to look back across the final ten days of shenanigans and share the crew’s adventures.
Hello and welcome to Aurora, the social platform that shines a light for everyone! Don’t forget to fill in your profile with a little more detail to help
us people you may know profile identify you. Would you like to play this classic fantasy game that will help us harvest more data where your quests occur in the real world?
Hallowe’en and SciFiMonth have been and gone, the first frost has needed clearing off the car windscreen and the first Christmas lights have appeared around the neighbourhood – I haven’t succumbed to a mince pie (yet), but it’s about the time I take Ariel Bissett‘s End of The Year book tag.
November was intended to be full throttle blogging for our tenth celebration of SciFiMonth. Instead, it involved moving to the opposite end of the country while it was full steam ahead at work, which left me a frazzled bundle too exhausted to write most of the blog posts I had planned. Sorry, crew.
With one week left to go, it’s time to take the wrappers off our final SciFiMonth Solaris Book Bundle! Our friends at Rebellion Publishing have been incredibly generous for our birthday, so our final bundle features some fabulous releases from the past couple of years.
Wait, how did we get to week three already? Right, I’ve been stuck in another timeline moving boxes. I fear there’s a few more of them in my future, but before I find out it’s time to sit back with a cuppa and survey the signals from our SciFiMonth crew to see what they’ve been up to these past seven (or so) days…
One of the worst ads I ever saw made a new book’s biggest feature that it was from the publishers of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Some enormous press who puts out hundreds of disparate titles per year is not my guarantee of a good time. But here’s the thing: if it had been an independently owned / small press, that ad would work for me. Let’s look at why…
Today, I’m delighted to announce a very special giveaway. In honour of our tenth birthday and in support of the #SmallPressBigStories cross-blog initiative celebrating small and independent presses we have an ARC of The Ten Percent Thief by Lavanya Lakshminarayan to give away courtesy of the lovely team at Rebellion Publishing!
Control to SciFiMonth fleet: it’s time to grab a cuppa, put your feet up and tune in to what your crewmates have been up to during the second week of SciFiMonth! Whether you’ve been hip deep in clones or navigating the unexpected quirks of an alternate timeline, Lisa and I are here with a round-up of reviews, discussions and recommendations…
You know the saying: no two people in the contacted world are more than six social connections apart. Inspired by Kate at Books Are My Favourite And Best, I apply this notion to books and challenge friends and authors to find interesting ways to hop from one book to another based on a shared author, theme, award win and so on. Today, I’m delighted to welcome Ren Hutchings, author of timeslip space opera Under Fortunate Stars, to take the Six Degrees challenge.
November means SciFiMonth here at There’s Always Room For One More, but there’s more than just SF to enjoy in the month’s new releases! I’m very late posting this month because life is overwhelmingly busy, but I’d hate you to miss out on these upcoming (or now up and come) books…
Hailing all channels: it’s our first weekly round-up of SciFiMonth shenanigans! If you’ve been trapped in a pocket universe or cut off from comms on a strange new world, Lisa and I are here to bring you the news of what your SciFiMonth crewmates have been getting up to. Grab a cuppa and batten down your TBR…
