Welcome to final SciFiMonth Mission Status for this year. What a month it’s been: over 330 blog posts plus a treasure trove of tweets, pictures and comments! Thank you all so much for making it our most epic SciFiMonth yet.

Welcome to half of the weekly SciFiMonth Mission Status log! I’ll be covering the week’s reviews and read-alongs again this week – hop over to Dear Geek Place for a round-up of the week’s discussions and other comms chatter.
We’ve just passed the halfway point on our journey, and the reports are coming in thick and fast from the ground crews and the wider Fleet. Adventure has been found in deep space, on other planets, in other times and dimensions and (of course) in a galaxy far, far away. Let’s take a look…
We’re all settled in for the journey now. The TBRs are stashed, the reading has begun in earnest, and there’s a media catalogue big enough to keep Murderbot happy. Maybe. Let’s look back at the last week’s activity…
Welcome to our biggest SciFiMonth yet! Our mentions exploded on November 1st, and the comm hasn’t stopped pinging since – we love you people ❤️
It’s been a blast: we visited new worlds, old friends, and parallel dimensions; we’ve time-hopped, blog-hopped, and flailed with all the joy and commitment 4 dozen SF geeks can muster. There’ve been over 230 blog posts (…that I know about!) plus photos galore and tweets aplenty. You were all epic. One last round-up before we call it for the year? Go on then…
Minh wants to rebuild the Earth. Kiki wants to be useful. The banks want easy, guaranteed profits. But with a bank funding an environmental research trip back in time to Bronze Age Mesopotamia, maybe everybody can get what they want…
It’s been an epic SciFiMonth, and Lisa and I are capping it off with a big, free-wheeling conversation about what makes the genre special. We invited some friends and favourites along to talk to us about what they love best about science fiction.
We’re in the final stages of our mission now, seeing how many planets and space stations we can visit before we regretfully turn for home. Time for our weekly round-up of what’s been going on…
I had decided not to read The Expanse – until a SFFReadalong was announced last year (willpower: I’ve heard about it), which I just couldn’t resist (I like reading with friends, okay?). And I’m ever so glad I let the gang’s enthusiasm drag me along, as it’s now one of my all-time favourite space operas. I turned the tables for SciFiMonth and dragged Lisa and M into debating the Big Question with me: sure, the tv show is good, but was the book better?
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl so we can keep sharing our love of books and lists with our bookish friends. Don’t really read SF or have only just begun exploring it? This one’s for you.
We’re past the halfway mark now and we’re deep into our exploration of alien civilisations, parallel worlds and future technologies. Time for our weekly round-up of what’s been going on…
The world is dying. The race for the stars has begun and Britain is determined to be the first to reach the promised world of Terra-Two. A small, fast ship will carry 4 experienced astronauts and 6 carefully-selected teenagers to prepare Terra-Two for colonisation. But this golden opportunity may not be what it seems…
We’re a third of the way and settled into a regular routine – no mutinies, no odd disappearances and no garbled screaming on the comms. I’ve not been around as much as I’d like on this first leg of our journey (I had to spend some time in med bay; then have been kept busy down in the cargo hold sorting out some legacy crates). However, I’ve been listening in on comms all the while, so grab a cuppa and I’ll bring you up to date on what’s been going on…
Top Ten Tuesday is was created by The Broke and the Bookish, and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s all about books, lists and sharing the love we have of both with our bookish friends. This week, we’ve been asked what backlist books we’re looking forward to – and of course I’m going to be focusing on SF books.
