My Life In Books: 2020 edition

Bookshelves

I’m not much of a one for New Year’s resolutions, so I’m taking a week out from Top Ten Tuesday to tackle a book tag that recently tickled my fancy. I found this via The Captain and Laura Tisdall, but it originated (as far as I can tell) with Adam at Roof Beam Reader in 2010 (a fine vintage tag, right here).

The rules for this tag are simple: using only books read this year, answer the following questions. Try not to repeat a book title. So – setting my sights on 2020, what was my life in books?

In high school I was: To Be Taught, If Fortunate

People might be surprised by: The Green Man’s Foe

I will never be: The Empress of Salt and Fortune

My fantasy job is: Silver In the Wood (practical folklorist? Sure, unless I can be Bramble)

At the end of a long day I need: Bone Silence

I hate: Zone One (and sadly, I really did. But I don’t much like New York, either)

I Wish I had: Sunset Mantle

My family reunions are: Of Dragons, Feasts and Murder (mostly the feasts, mind)

At a party you’d find me with: Lexicon

I’ve never been to: The Furthest Station

A happy day includes: Triggernometry

Motto I live by: Hold Back The Tide

On my bucket list is are: The Ten Thousand Doors of January

In my next life, I want to have: The Library of the Unwritten
