    Sagas! Egil, Laxdaela, also Erik the Red. Mabinogion also – the first four stories

      I have Njal’s saga here too somewhere, and the Edda. I’ve theoretically read the Mabinogion before, although I don’t remember it, so I think the sagas will win 🙂

        Grettir’s Saga is great also. Both Prose Edda and Poetic Edda are essential reading.
