Predictably charming

We had a lovely Easter weekend in Munich, which was chilly and delighted us with a day of snowstorms to see us off. They're expecting 20+ degrees next weekend. Go figure.

One of the few things we got up to was a trip to the cinema to see The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which is a good sequel delivering exactly what you'd expect: a decent script, natural performances from national treasures, and Richard Gere playing Richard Gere. Thankfully they did nothing here to cock up the charm of the first, although the second – whilst inevitably and rightly bittersweet in some of its themes – is more comic, less melancholy and deeply life-affirming.

Yes, yes, we teared up. We always do. Big softies, him and me.
