Fantasy love-in continues

scott-lynch has posted the entire prologue of The Republic of Thieves on his website. That funny sound in the air? It’s his publisher, crying.

The prologue is a flashback, in which we finally get to meet Sabetha – so if you want to save it, don’t click.

I’ve only read the first book so far – do we ever get to meet Sabetha? There’s such a build-up and mystery I was sure she’d pop up in the first book, but she didn’t (looking back, it makes for a better story, but still)

She remains elusive through Book 2, but is promised to be the antagonist for Book 3 – which should be very interesting indeed!
