In the interests of diverting myself from ranting incoherently, I’m going to stop reading Christians try to explain away Science and share something entertaining with you instead. dizzykj and I are both wondering how we didn’t hear about this phenomenon* months ago, and have realised our YouTube-fu is weak (non-existent, in fact; I at least have some strange idea that there’s nothing there worth watching, which I think is actually a self-defense mechanism to stop me spending all my time there).
So, without further ado, I bring you something you’re probably already familiar with: the Literal Music Video (with a million thanks to naamah_darling for getting me started). Because for every video that’s just the band playing, there’s several that aspire to tell a story that may or may not have anything to do with the song… and now there are some madmen dedicated to re-writing the songs to fit the video.
Possibly the funniest thing I’ve ever seen:
Although Meat Loaf’s I’d Do Anything For Love was clearly screaming out for the same treatment, and it turns out that – somewhat surprisingly – you can have a lot of fun with James Blunt’s minimum effort. And frankly, I think almost anything from the 80s is going to work a treat**.
*Hell, it’s been in the Grauniad and everything.
**Resist the urge to hit Stop when the annoying front-man reappears. Trust me.
